is excited to be recruiting a Buildings Project Manager for a large public sector company based in the Cardiff area. The Project Manager will act as part of a Building Maintenance team managing projects in relation to company buildings and maintenance management on approximately 400 company buildings.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Project Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the project in relation to buildings maintenance, like planned preventative maintenance, cyclical maintenance and responsive repairs all whilst co-ordinating and managing external contractors, ensuring work is of the highest of standards in accordance with the specification, timeline and budget thereby providing customers with their best experience of customer service. These tasks must be carried out in compliance with new and existing legislation, requirements and Health and Safety policies ensuring a compliant and safe working environment.

Other duties include:

  • To carry out the day to day workload of a Contracts Officer undertaking on site supervision, completing necessary paperwork & co-ordinating the handover of completed schemes to client expectations.
  • To record, input and maintain records relating to the progress, cost and completion of works utilising the works management system and report against Key Performance Indicators,
  • To ensure the completion and ‘sign–off’ of all associated documentation (e.g. relevant certificates; ‘as made’ drawings) including the completion of the final accounts.
  • To continuously, & on completion, check that the workmanship is of the specified quality standard and have been carried out in a timely manner
  • To actively participate in Service Improvement events as required.
  • To develop and maintain risk assessments and safe systems of work;
  • To positively promote and demonstrate the values required by the service.
  • To ensure any complaints from stakeholders are investigated, responded to and resolved appropriately within the agreed timescale.
  • To attend site progress meetings and stakeholder consultation meeting where necessary.

Desirable Attributes:

  • HNC or Higher in Mechanical Engineering
  • IOSH Managing Safely
  • NEBOSH Construction Site Safety
  • CDM Co-ordinator
  • CSCS Card Holder
