Job Description:

LINKS Recruitment Group are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of a large international design and engineering business based within a state-of-the-art facility in Bridgend.

Our client is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to work within their team to directly contribute to strategic initiatives and play an integral role in ensuring future successes for the business.

This role is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and aspiring manager to progress their career within a World-leading organisation. The division which the successful candidate will be leading has continued to expand in recent months and this trend is forecast to continue through the next financial year. This role is crucial in evolving operational performance to fulfill the growing demands on the business. The position will be entrusted with full responsibility for all operational activities and provide scope for involvement in New customer/product introductions.

Key Responsibilities:

 • Operational and Market Quality for all products

• Acceptance and Delivery of the weekly/monthly Production plan

• Ensuring the weekly Sales Plan is satisfied on time in full

• People management of direct and indirect staff

• Ensuring efficiency and effectiveness across all elements of manufacturing performance

• Driving culture and behaviours in line with the clients’ values

• Strategy delivery and contribution to driving strategy

• Coordinating improvement and change management initiatives

• Communication and presentation of operational performance at all business levels

• Deliver weekly and monthly operational key performance indicators

• Develop robust operational procedures and ensure adherence

Person Specification:

Essential criteria

• An appreciation of the importance of culture and people management

• Experience of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

• Proven credential in managing successful teams and inter-departmental collaboration

• Good understanding of the role of operations in achieving Business objectives

• An ability to lead teams to drive improvement and add value over a sustained period

• Strong Communication and leadership skills

Desirable criteria

• Demonstrable change management experience

• Management qualification

• Sound understanding of relevant product and process technologies

• Knowledge of concepts such as Lean, TQM, 6-sigma
