Job Description:

LINKS Recruitment Group are recruiting for experienced Electrical/Electronic Field Service Engineers x 10 across the M62 corridor, London and Midlands for a leading service and maintenance company. This role offers an opportunity to join the company at an exciting growth phase.  Lots of overtime available!

The role will see you working on site at customer locations to troubleshoot, maintain and repair ventilation systems. After some on-the-job training, your technical, mechanical and electrical skills will be used on every visit across new and challenging situations, equipment and locations. You will be responsible for meeting the daily service maintenance and repair needs of the customer’s smoke ventilation equipment. Establish and maintain proper business relationships with customers as well as performing necessary administrative duties as required and other duties as assigned.


  • Provide service reports and certification in accordance with company specifications and procedures including product, systems and access platform checks
  • Assess hardware and software malfunctions by means of diagnostic appraisals using appropriate tools and customer input
  • Disassemble and reassemble controls and smoke ventilation equipment to repair or replace worn or malfunctioning components and consumables
  • Basic troubleshooting, installation, maintenance and repair on designated smoke ventilation equipment
  • Completing Preventative Maintenance and field modifications using company service specifications and regulatory requirements
  • Completing and submitting a dynamic risk assessment and acknowledging safe practices prior to works commencing

The Person:

  • Minimum 2 years’ service engineering experience
  • An electronic/electrical engineering or electro-technology apprenticeship to a minimum of 4 years or suitably trained through BTEC or City &Guild’s 2365 level 2 or higher is essential
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, and/or electronic equipment is essential
  • Ability to prioritise and delegate work effectively
  • Experience troubleshooting and responding to customer concerns
  • Computer literate with a good understanding of Microsoft Word/Excel, Navision or equivalent
  • Knowledge of PLC and inverters is desirable

Salary: £30,000 - £32,000
